Here’s the scanned version of the Bill….. hope to have a better e-version soon….
The census is the ‘count’ in accountability.
It is the only way we determine whether things are getting better or worse.
It is clear that the long form census provides the information with which all sectors plan and make decisions that are appropriate to the needs of Canadians.
Cancelling the Mandatory Long Form Census means that information and data from previous years would not be able to compared to the next census …
It’s not too late.
As Gerard Kennedy has said we want to bring Stephen Harper back to his ‘census’.
The Bill will enshrine the madatory long form census into law and eliminate the jail penalties (which have never been used).
Armine Yalnizian latest blog on the census connects the dots and links back to the latest proposal to end the madness.

As a Canadian firmly involved in Canadian genealogy, I firmly believe that this information might also be of great importance down the road of history, for others searching their family roots.
It amazes me that any government attempt to change such an importance piece of Canadian infomation gathering, without first consulting Canadians.
