Happy Simcoe Day…. from Tiny Township, Simcoe County and Jump for Jamaica

Posted on August 6, 2012

Today we celebrate this wonderful summer holiday named after the first Lieutenant Governor for Upper Canada…. who did many things including abolish slavery ahead of the rest of the British Empire….. so it is fitting that our August holiday is named for him as it is so close to Emancipation Day AUgust 1…..

Today we are also celebrating the 50th Birthday of Jamaica…. Jump for Jamaica !!!!!

(Lady Simcoe had 3 dogs.. Tiny, Tay and Flos… so the townships in Simcoe County were named after them !)
