Honoured tonight to make the link between this celebration and my race from Allen Gardens and the Vigil for Missing and Murdered Aboriginal Women…

In my job as critic for Aboriginal Affairs, every day I am reminded of the importance of a secure personal & cultural identity; its the link to self esteem, resiliene, sense of control, and clearly the dangers of what happens when it is removed.

Tonight, I was so inspired by the reaction to my remarks….the Jewish Community understands… they feel it in their hearts and minds. A secure personal and cultural identity is imperative to dignity and feeling proud about who you are and where you’ve come from. Tonight was (not surprisingly) totally inspiring for me.
