A friend sent me a link to a Rabble.ca article on Stephen Harper’s speech at the UN. I didn’t agree with the premise that Canada didn’t deserve a seat on the Security Council, but I thought the the record on indigenous people, global warming, Aid, Khadr was worth sharing .. I retweeted with the word ‘interesting’ … I was shocked to be tweeted back asking if I supported the anti-israel rhetoric in the article. I went back to the article and was upset to realize that the article I had read on my berry had truncated and that I hadn’t read the last paragraphs before I retweeted the article. This is a serious lesson for me. I am thankful how quickly the error was pointed out to me and that I was able to reply that in no way did I support the anti-Israel message. As I hadn’t really agreed with the premise of the article I had used the word ‘interesting’ on purpose. But I now realize that as an MP if I cite an article it can be interpreted as ‘promoting’ it or worse yet that I agree with every word. In the future I promise to be more careful and to make clearer my support or lack of support for the opinions being put forth in the ‘link’. Mea culpa. It has also been pointed out to me that I should be wary of certain publications, authors as an initial screen. I will do better in the future. I learn a great deal using social media tools… The information, the frank feedback are all part of a learning culture and a ‘democracy between elections’ in which citizens and their elected representatives can interact in real time. I take this responsibility seriously. I apologize for today’s error.

As always, thanks for being a leader! We admire you for trying new things and learning for us all as you do.
Keep up the great work!
Caroline, you have nothing to apologize for. The article was interesting as you said. You should not allow the climate of paranoia fostered by Harper, and the chill on free speech fostered by “Brand Israel” to silence such an innocuous comment as “interesting”, and neither should anyone else. We are free in this country to criticize other countries are we not?

ahhhh … thank you so much….
That’s too bad, I was hopeful you had finally figured out Israel’s errors and would quit being such a knee-jerk supporter. But I guess that’s impossible given how large the Jewish population is in our riding and you crass desire for reelection… though I guess you’ll still get my vote since… well… you’re not evil?
Much love!
Good morning Dr. Bennett:
I have been watching you lately on TV and your emotions are out of control, you seem to be getting really work up over the politics of trying to justify your positions. You were ranting on TV the other day against the governmnet and I thought you were about to have a break down, you were hysterical, you need to settle down.
I was not impressed with your handling of the H1N1 situation either, you seemed to be hoping for Canadians to die from H1N1 so you could damage the government , and your body bags flyer was awful.
Maybe politics is not a good fit for you, or you should at least try to be more honest with your postions, are they fact based or for political advantage. If you were my doctor I would want less emotion and more substance.
Your postion on the census is not credible as well.
Have a good day
So, can you elaborate on what you mean by “interesting”? What is your position on our governments handling of indigenous people, global warming, aid and Khadr?
Actually, it would have been better had you agreed with the premise of the article. Many in the Jewish community are now openly calling for Israel to fully respect human rights but unfortunately, many politicians prefer to pander to us based on what a few self-appointed leaders are saying.
For reasons unknown i’m getting a blank page after i attempt to post a comment,do you know as to why its occuring?i’m applying oprea web-browser
