I am thrilled to be spending the next few days learning from local public health experts and leaders about the views and public health priorities of British Columbians. My travels are part of my mandate to develop a new Canadian public health agency.
Thrilled to receive our annual busload of consituents today. It is one of the best parts of my job: showing off 'their nation's capital' to the people of St. Paul's! It was a great day.
The Speech from the Throne yesterday and Prime Minister Martin's response today made us proud to be Canadians! Cities, Public Health, the Economy and Canada's role in the world all have huge resonance for St. Paul's.
He believes it is a foregone conclusion that the Supreme Court will declare the traditional definition of marriage unconstitutional and that asking for an extra reference question to prove it is a means to educate and evolve public and political opinion.
Parliamentary Clinic at 1pm and Town Hall at 2pm taking place at Christ Church Deer Park (Yonge and Heath). Hope to see you there!
Despite no publicity, I was thrilled to be there tonight with lots of others with popcorn on our laps laughing out loud at my husband Peter O'Brian's hilarious satire of the Canadian film business in the late 70's!
Off to Winnipeg to see the fabulous National Microbiology Lab and meet with Public health community there. Back for the Neighbourhood Checkup at Bradgate Arms Sunday. Then Atlanta and the CDC Monday and Washington DC Tuesday.
